And so the concrete begins ... I hope

Imagine my delight at the arrival of a Bobcat out in front of the house, with a guy dressed like he’s been pouring concrete.

Which, oddly enough, he has.

It seems that, like with many companies in Alberta as of late, they’re behind. Way behind. The guy (whose name I didn’t get) gets about four hours of sleep a night, and they’re working almost seven days a week. But they’re here now to get my basement floor covered.

Which might be harder than I thought. (Yes, this is where it goes from good back to bad again.) Apparently, it seems that the clips used to secure the piping to the floor weren’t properly installed. I’m not entirely sure what the difference is, but the concrete guy knows. And he knows that some sections are going to float up a bit. Some sections aren’t secured at all. They will float, and that’s a problem.

He’s already said that they might do it themselves, just to get this done and out of the way. I suspect, however, that this is going to come back to Canyon for poor installation. (I’ll bring this one myself, if I have to.) Any extra work that these guys have to put in that might come back to me, I’m circling back — I ain’t paying extra for something that should have been done right the first time.

Anyway, the work is starting, so we’ll see how it goes. Stay tuned.
