Actually, make that 18 things

Last week, barely hours after Independence Day here was over, the stores started switching over their wares from Mother’s Day (in August) to … Christmas decorations.

Santa Claus is already in the aisles. This is so not fair. It’s the middle of freaking September, people!!

Fortunately, they haven’t started playing Christmas music. I think I’d have to kill myself if they did. Ugh.

  1. I agree! I was in Rona on MacLeod trail on Sunday night and they have all of their Christmas stuff on display too…..lights, trees, ornaments….It’s just wrong.

  2. It is not limited to Costa Rica. That’s Western “progress”.

Canadian Tire is all about starting Christmas promotions in September.

  3. Oh for the love of sanity… you’re kidding… Please tell me they’re not already playing Christmas music? That would be reason enough for me to never move back to Canada.

  4. Christmas stuff started going up where I was last weekend. In almost all the shops. I remember when it was in bad form to start decorating before Thanksgiving.

  5. HA! When I was in College I was working at Staples… As soon as School finished, Managers started talking about “BTS” or “Back to School!”

Everyday at work was a reminder that going back was right around the corner!

At least Christmas is something to look forward to!

  6. Ugh, I hear you, Corby. Being reminded each day about going back to school would drive me nuts. I still get the shivers thinking about going back to school.

Still, FOUR MONTHS of Christmas stuff is way too much.
